SDA funding covers the home itself. Personal care and other supports, such as Supported Independent Living, are funded separately where approved in your plan, and we can talk you through how they fit together.

SDA is not available to every NDIS participant. The NDIA considers whether a participant has extreme functional impairment or very high support needs and whether SDA meets the relevant NDIS funding criteria.
Depending on the participant's needs and the property's design category, SDA homes may include features such as wider doorways, wheelchair-accessible kitchens, ceiling-hoist provisions, accessible bathrooms and automated or button-operated doors.
No. SDA funding relates to the specialised housing itself. Personal care, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options and other disability supports are separate from SDA and may be funded separately where approved in a participant's NDIS plan.
Participants can explore SDA vacancies that suit their approved needs, location and dwelling requirements. SDA can include houses, apartments, villas, duplexes and townhouses, and some participants may live alone while others share with a small number of people.
